Five TradingView Buy/Sell indicators at a glance
The best buy and sell indicator is the one that answers your chart question clearly. Some tools label a setup on one chart; others compare several markets, wait for reversal confirmation or alert you to a zone event.
We compare our own five VIP Algos products by documented features, with original visuals and demonstrations. “Best” means a useful fit for the task described below.
| Indicator | Useful for | Key view |
|---|---|---|
| Trading Signal Suite | A signal with surrounding setup information | Buy/Sell labels, trend, strength and TP/SL zones. |
| Smart Money AI Signals | Signals beside several target areas | Entry, risk area, signal power and TP1 / TP2 / TP3. |
| AI Trading Signal Scanner | Shortlisting markets to inspect | Four-timeframe states, Top Setup and Final Signal. |
| AI Trading Reversal Zones | Checking whether a potential turn is confirmed | Watch area, forming status, confirmation and levels. |
| AI Buy & Sell Strength Zones | Understanding a nearby Buy/Sell zone | Structural strength, reaction count and zone events. |

Start with one useful role
You do not need all five. Pick the missing part of your chart review, watch its demo and compare the functionality with built-in TradingView alternatives.
A signal, a zone and an alert are different things
A TradingView buy and sell indicator can label an event, summarise a current state or mark an area to watch. Knowing which one you are looking at makes the chart easier to interpret.
Signal · an event or state
A label shows that the script’s rules have been met. Read its timing, symbol and setup status before comparing it with another signal.
Zone · an area to inspect
A shaded region marks a price area. The zone being present, price entering it and a confirmed reaction are separate observations.
Alert · a notification
An alert notifies you when its configured condition occurs. Its symbol, frequency and timing need to match the event you want to monitor.

Trading Signal Suite: keep the signal and setup together
Role: Signals + setup dashboardStart here if you want Buy/Sell labels, trend, signal strength and setup quality in one chart view. Trading Signal Suite combines those readings with entry references, Take Profit 1 / 2 and Stop Loss zones, so the signal has surrounding information to review.

Read the whole panel
Look at the signal alongside trend and setup quality. An attractive Buy label may still sit close to an obstacle on the chart; the dashboard helps organise the review.
Recheck the reference levels
Compare entry, target and stop areas with current price. A displayed level is a chart reference, and the price available later may differ.
Illustrative chart check: A Buy label appears, but price has already moved toward the first target. Review the remaining spacing before treating the earlier label as a fresh setup.

Smart Money AI Signals: inspect the labelled chart setup
Role: Signals + three target areasA choice for readers who want Buy/Sell alerts beside entry, risk and TP1 / TP2 / TP3 areas. Smart Money AI Signals displays the setup’s signal power and reference levels in a visual chart layout, rather than leaving the signal label on its own.

Read the labelled setup
Read the signal, chart location and signal power together. The labelled entry and risk area make it easier to compare the setup with surrounding price structure.
Keep each target in context
Use TP1, TP2 and TP3 to see how the tool organises potential target areas, then compare their spacing with nearby structure and current price.
Illustrative chart check: A Sell label appears after a fast candle. Compare current price with the labelled entry and risk area instead of copying the original chart spacing.

AI Trading Signal Scanner: compare setups across charts
Role: Several markets + four timeframesChoose this role when your question is which market deserves a closer look? The scanner checks up to six selected markets across four timeframes, displays BUY / SELL / WAIT states and ranks its Top Setup, Next Best Setup and Final Signal in one dashboard.

Understand the ranking
Top Setup highlights the strongest qualifying reading among the selected markets. The ranking summarises the tool’s rules, giving you a starting point for closer chart inspection.
Open the underlying chart
Use the dashboard to shortlist a symbol, then inspect its actual chart. Timeframe agreement and the symbol’s current price structure answer different questions.
Illustrative chart check: The scanner highlights one symbol while a slower timeframe still shows WAIT. Open that symbol and review the disagreement before reducing the dashboard to one label.

AI Trading Reversal Zones: distinguish forming from confirmed
Role: Watch area → confirmed reversalA focused option for potential turns after an extended price move. The tool separates Buy/Sell watch areas and forming candidates from confirmed reversal setups. Once its selected rules confirm a setup, it displays Entry, TP1, TP2, Stop Loss and Risk / Reward.

Check the setup stage
A forming watch area is live scanning information. Inspect the confirmation status before reading it as the same event as a confirmed BUY or SELL.
Read quality with the chart
Setup quality summarises the tool’s rules. Read it beside the reversal area, confirmation information and current reference levels to understand the complete setup.
Illustrative chart check: A bearish watch area appears while price is still moving up. Compare the required confirmation level with the current setup stage, rather than assuming the area already means SELL.

AI Buy & Sell Strength Zones: examine the area around price
Role: Zone strength + reaction alertsUse this role when you want a Buy/Sell zone map with measured structural strength. The tool builds active areas from confirmed historical reactions, shows their strength and independent reaction counts, and identifies price location and the nearest zone. Alerts cover selected zone events.

Read the score correctly
Strength is a normalised structural score, not the percentage chance of winning. Compare it with reaction count, freshness and the location of current price.
Choose the event you want
A zone appearing, price entering it, a reaction forming and a confirmed break are different events. Match the alert to the part of the review you need.
Illustrative chart check: Price reaches a strong Buy Zone while the broader move points down. The zone score describes historical structure; inspect the current reaction and surrounding chart separately.

Which Buy/Sell indicator should you explore first?
Choose a starting point by the information you want to see. These are feature-based suggestions, so you can jump straight to the relevant chart and demo.
Choose the extra information you need
Several tools can share Buy/Sell wording while answering different questions. A market ranking, a reversal confirmation and a zone reaction are not interchangeable. Add a second tool only when you understand what its reading contributes.
Free TradingView tools worth comparing
Before choosing a premium buy and sell indicator, compare the function you need with simpler built-in tools. A useful paid feature might be its dashboard, automatic level organisation, scanning or alert workflow.
Supertrend · trend state
Supertrend plots an ATR-based trend-following line that changes with its trend conditions. Its ATR length and multiplier affect sensitivity.
It can produce false signals. TradingView’s Supertrend guide ↗
EMA · price direction
An exponential moving average smooths price and gives more weight to recent data. Defined crossover rules can be used to identify chart events.
Moving averages lag price. TradingView’s EMA guide ↗
RSI · momentum
Relative Strength Index describes momentum on a 0–100 scale. A threshold crossing is one possible event to monitor, depending on the rule you choose.
An extreme reading can persist. TradingView’s RSI guide ↗
A built-in measurement does not automatically create the same labels, zones or dashboard as a separate script. Compare the actual function, not just similar colours on a chart.
How to set up TradingView Buy/Sell alerts
An indicator being on the chart and an alert being active are separate steps. Configure the notification for the specific signal, confirmation or zone event you want to monitor.
Check the chart first
Add the tool, select the symbol and timeframe, and review its settings. Invite-only access comes from the script’s author, separately from a TradingView subscription.
Match the chart event
Create an alert and choose the condition exposed by the script. A new signal, zone entry and confirmed reversal are different conditions.
Understand the trigger
Check frequency, interval and expiration. Use a bar-close option where available if you want notification after the bar closes; the choices depend on the condition.
Check delivery and settings
Confirm your available notification channels and device permissions. If you change the script’s inputs, symbol or timeframe, recreate the alert to use the revised configuration.
TradingView stores an alert’s script and chart configuration when you create it. Available alert features and delivery methods depend on your account and settings. Official alert setup guide ↗ · How script alerts work ↗
Forming candles and non-repainting signals
A reading can change while its current candle is forming. Bar-close timing and a script’s historical plotting behaviour are separate things. To evaluate a non-repainting buy and sell indicator, compare live observations with the same closed bars after a reload, using unchanged settings. TradingView’s repainting explanation ↗
Compare signals on the chart you actually use
Forex, crypto, gold, stocks and index charts can have different sessions, data providers and price movements. These product pages describe supported markets; check the exact symbol, chart settings and account requirements before comparing their readings.
A Buy/Sell state on one timeframe may differ from another. Record which interval generated a reading, and distinguish a current state from the time a fresh signal first appeared.
For more specific comparisons, see our TradingView day trading indicators guide, TradingView scalping indicators guide and gold and XAUUSD indicators guide.
A practical Buy/Sell indicator checklist
Use fixed settings and fresh chart observations. Record conflicting readings and failed scenarios alongside convincing examples; selected screenshots alone cannot establish signal reliability or achievable execution.
Eight checks for your chart review
Save notes with the symbol, timeframe and settings so you can compare like with like.
TradingView Buy/Sell indicator FAQs
What is the best buy and sell indicator for TradingView?
Choose by function: a chart signal panel, a multi-market scanner, reversal confirmation or zone-event alerts. This guide compares five VIP Algos products by those roles. There is no single tool that is best for every market, timeframe or trading approach.
Are there free buy and sell indicators on TradingView?
TradingView includes built-in measurements such as Supertrend, EMA and RSI, alongside community scripts with different access types. Compare their actual conditions and features. A premium indicator may add a dashboard, scanning, organised levels or a different alert workflow.
Can I use these indicators with a free TradingView account?
The VIP Algos product pages describe use with a free TradingView account. Your account’s indicator, technical-alert and data limits still apply. Buying script access does not include a separate TradingView subscription or market-data entitlement.
Do Buy/Sell alerts place trades automatically?
No. The VIP Algos tools described here are chart-analysis and notification tools. A Buy/Sell label or TradingView alert does not by itself place an order. Any external automation requires its own configuration and confirmed compatibility.
Can I receive TradingView Buy/Sell signals on my phone?
Available notification methods depend on your TradingView account, alert configuration, app settings and device permissions. Add the indicator, create the relevant alert and verify delivery. Simply adding a script to a chart does not activate every notification.
How do I check whether a buy and sell indicator repaints?
Understand whether a reading is still forming, then compare live observations with the same closed bars after a reload, using fixed settings. Check the script’s documentation and historical plotting behaviour. Bar-close alerts alone do not prove that every plotted element is non-repainting.
Does a high signal-strength or zone score mean a high win rate?
No. A score summarises the indicator’s rules or structural inputs. It is not a verified probability of profit. Read the score definition, current chart location and setup status rather than treating it as a forecast of trading returns.
How do I get one of these indicators on TradingView?
Open its product page, review the full features and access details, and follow the supplied setup instructions. Invite-only scripts require author-granted access. Each product link in this guide takes you to the matching VIP Algos tool.
