Five MT5 forex indicators, five ways to simplify your chart work
The best forex indicators for MT5 make a specific part of your analysis easier. Some help you choose which currencies to compare. Others monitor a watchlist, organise a labelled setup or keep key price areas visible. Start with the task you repeat most often, then compare the relevant feature display below.
This is a feature-based guide to five VIP Algos products. “Best” means a useful fit for the task described; we have not independently ranked the entire MT5 market or compared trading returns. Images and videos are shared product demonstrations and are not all captures from the MT5 terminal. Phone artwork illustrates the product rather than native mobile installation.
| Indicator | Useful for | Key view |

A simpler starting point: choose the missing function
If pair selection takes the most time, begin with strength or scanning. If you already know your pair, look at signals or automatic levels. Sentiment offers a broader comparison of market conditions. Compare one useful addition with the EMA, RSI and ATR tools already in MT5 before building a larger layout.
Currency Strength Meter: give your forex watchlist a clear starting point
Role: Eight currencies, 28 pairs and a Pair To WatchWhich currencies deserve a closer look before you open another chart? Currency Strength Meter brings USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD and NZD into one ranked MT5 display. Its 28-pair engine compares relative strength, tracks the gap between currencies and highlights a Pair To Watch with a bullish or bearish bias.

Compare the two sides of the pair
Start with the currency ranking, then inspect the Current Chart row. It shows how the base and quote currencies compare within the wider basket. This is especially useful when several forex charts look similar and you want a clearer explanation of which currency is contributing to the move.
Know which strength timeframe you are reading
The MT5 edition includes Auto strength analysis. For example, M1–M15 charts use H1 strength in Auto mode, while M30–H2 charts use H4 strength. That gives the dashboard a wider reference than the active candle. Check the selected analysis period before comparing a strength score with a short chart move.
Forex review example: AUD is near the top of the ranking and JPY is near the bottom. AUD/JPY becomes a chart worth inspecting for the strength relationship. If AUD and NZD rank close together, AUD/NZD describes a different comparison—even though AUD appears in both pairs. These are illustrative conditions, not a live recommendation.

AI Trading Signal Scanner: put your next chart check in focus
Role: Six configurable market slots and four timeframe viewsA shortlist is more useful when you can see how several pairs compare across the same timeframes. AI Trading Signal Scanner monitors up to six selected MT5 symbols across four configurable periods. Each row brings BUY / SELL / WAIT states together with Trend, Strength and a combined Final Signal.

See what sits behind Top Setup
Top Setup and Next Best Setup make the leading actionable readings easy to locate. The individual timeframe cells remain visible, so you can inspect where the combined signal comes from. Scalping, Balanced, Swing and Custom weighting let you change the influence of those periods; a score measures internal agreement, not a win rate.
Choose Confirmed or Live Preview deliberately
Confirmed mode uses confirmed source-timeframe data. Live Preview reacts to candles that are still developing and may change before they close. Keep the mode consistent when reviewing alerts. The scanner can report new signal-state transitions across enabled markets, with a Strong Signals Only option for the strongest categories.
Forex review example: Your six slots contain EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD, EUR/JPY and GBP/JPY. EUR/JPY appears as Top Setup, but one timeframe still shows WAIT. The dashboard lets you inspect that disagreement immediately. Changing the weighting profile can change the combined result, so note the profile alongside the reading.

Smart Money AI Signals: make the complete setup easier to inspect
Role: Buy/Sell alerts with Entry, Stop Loss and three targetsOnce a pair has your attention, see the signal and its surrounding price references in one place. Smart Money AI Signals displays Buy/Sell alerts, signal power, an Entry area, a Stop Loss zone and TP1 / TP2 / TP3 targets on your MetaTrader 5 chart. It suits readers who want a more organised signal-and-level display.

Read Entry, SL and TP as one layout
The value of the display is seeing the relationship between the label, its entry area and the surrounding target and risk zones. You can inspect what the software has marked without separately reconstructing every reference. Signal power is another analysis field to compare with the actual price chart.
Check the quote you could actually receive
The plotted Entry reference and the current executable quote can differ. Look at the bid/ask spread, the time of the signal and any movement since it appeared. The name describes the product’s analysis approach; it does not establish access to institutional orders or independently verified predictive accuracy.
Forex review example: A Sell label appears on USD/CHF with three targets below the Entry area. Before reviewing the idea further, compare the Stop Loss zone with the latest ask and the available target space. A tidy historical label does not tell you what fill or spread would have been available when the alert arrived.

AI Support & Resistance: make nearby forex levels hard to overlook
Role: Automatic support and resistance with TP/SL referencesDirection is only one part of a chart review. AI Support & Resistance automatically marks important price zones so you can see where the latest move sits in relation to nearby structure. The MT5 indicator also includes Buy/Sell alerts and target / Stop Loss reference areas for a clearer level-to-level view.

See where the next zone sits
Use the automatic map to inspect the areas ahead of price as well as the zone it has just left. That makes it easier to notice a nearby obstacle when a directional signal looks appealing. The practical benefit is keeping relevant chart areas visible while reducing repeated manual marking.
Separate a zone touch from a confirmed outcome
A first approach, a rejection and a break describe different price behaviour. Watch what the candles actually do around the marked area and review the product’s alert rules. The presence of a support or resistance zone does not determine whether it will hold or how price will travel afterwards.
Forex review example: EUR/GBP moves down towards a marked support area while a scanner row still leans Sell. The two displays answer different questions: one summarises direction, the other highlights location. The useful observation is that the next zone is close, rather than treating either display as permission to act.

Forex & Gold Sentiment: compare the market balance at a glance
Role: Analytical Buy/Sell percentages and currency moodPrefer a wider dashboard of directional conditions? Forex Sentiment & Gold Sentiment turns cross-market analysis into Buy/Sell balances, Major Currency Mood and a Best Setup view. It covers the 28 major-currency crosses, with XAUUSD as an additional market, and helps you compare the current pair with the broader forex picture.

Understand what the percentages describe
The Buy % and Sell % fields summarise the indicator’s calculated market evidence. They are not a count of traders buying and selling, a broker position feed or the probability of a winning trade. Strongest Buy, Strongest Sell and Best Setup organise which analytical readings you may want to inspect next.
Select the context you want to compare
The MT5 edition offers Auto, Current and Higher Timeframe sentiment modes. Auto uses a confirmed higher-timeframe view; Current follows the active chart period. The dashboard also supports confirmed sentiment alerts for conditions such as market-mood changes, currency shifts and changes to the highlighted pair.
Forex review example: GBP/JPY shows a stronger Buy balance on the selected sentiment period, while your lower-period chart is pulling back. Both observations can exist at once. Check the sentiment mode and current-pair reading before deciding whether you are looking at a wider directional background or a developing short-term move.

Which forex tool would make the biggest difference to your routine?
Pick the sentence that sounds most like the work you want to simplify. Each route takes you back to the relevant demo and product link. The aim is a useful display you understand, rather than more panels competing for space on your chart.
Currency Strength Meter or Signal Scanner: which first?
Currency Strength Meter starts with the relationship between eight currencies across a 28-pair basket. AI Trading Signal Scanner starts with up to six symbols you choose, then compares their four-timeframe signals. Choose the meter for a currency-led shortlist; choose the scanner for a watchlist you already want to monitor.
If you later combine tools, give each a clear job. A strength reading can help choose a pair, while a level map adds chart location. Two dashboards that both summarise trend or momentum can overlap. Their agreement should not be treated as two independent tests of the same setup.
Free built-in MT5 forex indicators: EMA, RSI and ATR
You can begin forex chart analysis with tools included in MetaTrader 5. These three familiar indicators cover different measurements, which makes them useful reference points when comparing a paid dashboard. The premium decision is whether a particular automation or display removes enough repeated work from your routine.
EMA · price direction
An exponential moving average gives recent prices greater weight while smoothing the series into a line. Compare price with the line to describe the recent directional picture.
A moving average follows price. Its slope or a crossover does not establish what the next move will be. MetaTrader 5 Moving Average reference ↗
RSI · price momentum
RSI turns the balance of recent upward and downward price changes into a 0–100 momentum reading for the chart you are viewing.
A currency-strength ranking compares currencies across markets. RSI measures momentum on its selected price series. MetaTrader 5 RSI reference ↗
ATR · movement size
Average True Range summarises recent true ranges, giving a view of how widely a pair has been moving over the chosen lookback.
A higher ATR describes larger recent ranges. It does not tell you whether Buy or Sell is the next direction. MetaTrader 5 ATR reference ↗
A paid MT5 forex indicator earns its place through a specific function: scanning pairs, arranging setup references, ranking currencies or mapping zones automatically. Review the demonstrations with that function in mind. You may need a clearer workflow more than another underlying price measurement.
Use MT5 timeframes and signal modes with a clear purpose
MetaTrader 5 provides 21 chart timeframes, while each custom indicator has its own supported analysis inputs. A chart candle, a higher-period strength calculation and a scanner summary can therefore describe different windows of market activity. Make those windows explicit before comparing the displays.
An M15 chart does not necessarily mean M15 strength analysis. The Currency Strength Meter’s Auto mode can use H1 as the source. Read the selected analysis period as well as the chart tab.
In the MT5 Signal Scanner, Confirmed and Live Preview use different stages of source-candle development. A preview can change before the source candle closes; record the mode with the observation.
Use the same watchlist, four timeframe inputs and weighting profile when comparing scanner readings over time. If you change an input, start a clearly labelled new observation set.

MT5 example: a developing M5 view inside an H1 background
Suppose a pair’s H1 context leans bullish while an M5 preview briefly turns bearish during a pullback. That is not automatically a fault or a contradiction. The observations cover different periods and different stages of candle formation. Review the individual scanner cells and the selected mode before interpreting the combined Final Signal.
Give the MT5 dashboard the symbols and history it needs
Use the exact symbols supplied by your broker, including any prefix or suffix. Make the required pairs available in Market Watch and allow the source history to load. A six-slot watchlist and a 28-pair currency basket have different data needs. If a field is waiting for data, check symbol availability and the product instructions before interpreting the panel.

Eight checks before you rely on a forex indicator display
After installation, use a demo account to follow new readings as they develop. Keep a short record of the pair, source periods, selected mode and alert time. Save examples where the software is unclear or the market moves against the reading as well as examples that look straightforward.
Your MT5 workspace review
These checks help you understand the software and its data. They do not validate a strategy or establish that a trade is suitable.
MT5 forex indicator questions answered
What are the best forex indicators for MetaTrader 5?
Start with the task. In this VIP Algos comparison, Currency Strength Meter supports currency-led pair selection; AI Trading Signal Scanner compares a chosen watchlist across four timeframes; Smart Money AI Signals arranges Buy/Sell setup references; AI Support & Resistance maps levels; and Forex & Gold Sentiment adds analytical market balances. These are our own tools compared by features, without an independently tested performance league table.
Which MT5 indicator is useful for finding forex pairs to watch?
Compare Currency Strength Meter when you want to rank the eight major currencies and review a Pair To Watch from a 28-pair basket. If you already have a defined watchlist, AI Trading Signal Scanner lets you configure up to six symbols and compare four timeframe signals for each. A highlighted pair is a starting point for further analysis.
Can I get MT5 Buy/Sell signals with entry, stop and target zones?
Smart Money AI Signals displays Buy/Sell alerts, signal power, an Entry area, a Stop Loss zone and TP1 / TP2 / TP3 references. AI Support & Resistance also combines its level map with directional alerts and target / stop areas. Compare the demos to choose the layout you understand. These indicators provide chart analysis; they do not execute or manage your trades.
How do Confirmed and Live Preview differ in the MT5 scanner?
Confirmed mode reads confirmed source-timeframe data. Live Preview includes developing source candles, so its readings can change before those candles close. A stable-looking screenshot cannot prove non-repainting behaviour for every input or data source. Review the documentation and observe the same source bars live and after closing with the mode recorded.
Is a currency strength meter the same as RSI or forex sentiment?
No. RSI measures momentum on a selected price series. Currency Strength Meter compares eight currencies across a forex basket. Forex & Gold Sentiment presents calculated Buy/Sell balances, currency mood and setup ranking. The two basket dashboards can share underlying market information, so matching readings are not necessarily independent confirmation.
Do the MT5 sentiment percentages show how many traders are buying?
No. The Buy % and Sell % values in Forex & Gold Sentiment are algorithmic balances derived from market analysis. They are not broker client-position counts or odds of a profitable outcome. Read the selected sentiment timeframe, current-pair balance and wider currency context together.
Can I use the MT5 forex indicators on mobile or Mac?
The custom .ex5 indicator runs in the desktop MT5 environment. Windows and Mac users should follow the supplied setup instructions for their installation. The native mobile app and web terminal do not load the custom .ex5 file. If the indicator supports push, enable it and enter your mobile MetaQuotes ID under Tools → Options → Notifications in desktop MT5. Test delivery and keep desktop MT5 connected.
How do I install an MT5 indicator and change Dashboard Position?
Press MT5 Download in the supplied access area to download the .ex5 file. In your desktop terminal, choose File → Open Data Folder, then copy the file into MQL5 → Indicators. Refresh Indicators in Navigator or restart the terminal, then drag the indicator onto a chart. For settings, open Charts → Indicators List, select the VIP Algos indicator, choose Edit and open Inputs. Where provided, Dashboard Position moves the panel to a location such as Top Left, Bottom Left or Bottom Right.
Choose the MT5 tool that earns its place on your chart
Begin with Currency Strength Meter if choosing pairs is the difficult part. Begin with AI Trading Signal Scanner if checking a watchlist takes too much time. If you already know the chart you want to review, compare the signal and level tools above. Open the relevant MT5 page to see the full demonstration and current access details.
